Two square riggers (one used in Pirates of the Caribbean) visited
Anacortes. Unfortunately when we saw them at full sail I did not have a camera with me but have attached some pictures when they were at dock.
This morning I saw a family of river otters on the dock. Often they visit early in the morning. Very curious fellows. At one time the sea held so many otters that the British and Americans, when first settling this area, almost hunted them to extension. The otter pelts were sent to Europe. Once the otters were almost gone, then the seals became the target.

Many of you have heard me whine about my old stove since everything had to be cooked on high. And the oven always heated to 550 degrees. George had to work very hard to find a stove that fit. Several tool purchases later he has the stove in and working! Hurry! Just in time for our trip to the Gulf Islands.
Sailing school for young kids. These little boats are about 8 feet long and the kids sail in the bay. Great way to learn early how to handle a boat.
Lady of the Sea....a monument to those sailors who have not returned from the sea.
Herons are seen each morning and evening fishing from the docks
Crab season opened. We have a very nice boat neighbor who took us out with him to show us how to bate, catch, clean and cook the crab. I now have a crab pot so dinner is served!
