This is the salon or living area on the trawler looking in from stern (back) of the boat. Stairs on left go up to the pilot house (instruments and steering) and stairs down in center of picture lead to hallway, heads (bathrooms) and berths (bedrooms).
My galley might look cozy but actually cooking has become a challenge at times due to space...on the counter and finding things in cabinets. Every space on a boat is a compromise as you have to move an object to get to another one. One shelf under the sink is my pantry. The frig and freezer on the left are only about 10" deep so grocery shopping is done frequently and some vegetables and fruit are not refrigerated. Of course the weather is cooler here and heat has not been been an issue for food products. The stove has 3 burners but cannot regulate well so much of the time meals are cooked on high. My oven does not go below 550 degrees...so hopefully that can be fixed so I can bake.

As you can see there are many drawers and hanger lockers but everything must be stowed.
